About Spott

It started as my own problem.

I was looking for a 993 Turbo and kept losing the good ones to someone who had seen them an hour earlier. So I built the radar I wanted to have. Now it runs every day, for a small group of professional buyers.

How we got here

Time, intuition and passion

Searching for a 993 Turbo, I found out how much time it takes to get a grip on the European market: dozens of sources, five languages, different currencies and tax regimes, and the good cars gone within days. I challenged myself: could I build one place that reads that whole market and understands what it finds?

I started building in September 2025, without a customer and without a business case. Just time, intuition and passion. It worked, and it kept growing: a working inbox and search profiles first, then the machinery that reads every source into one schema, then a catalogue of every 911 ever built, a valuation model measured on real comparables, and the tax layer that turns a price in Italy into a landed cost in the Netherlands.

One thing I decided early on: a project like this should above all be fun, driven by curiosity and craft.

In 2026 the building got serious and a small team of specialists joined. By late summer the platform was doing every night what a person could not do in a week. Now it runs as a closed pilot, and we are talking to the first partners about what it is worth in their hands.

Mission

Bring the right car to the right buyer, first.

Spott is the engine behind the buyer of special cars. It reads the European market every day, identifies every car it finds, values it, works out the landed cost into your own market and puts the match in your inbox, minutes after listing.

Vision

A live view of every special-interest market, Europe first.

Fragmented markets in many languages, currencies and tax regimes behave like one market once the data is normalised. Cars are the first vertical; the same engine reads any market for collectables. A small team, AI as the lever, and a platform that gets better with every listing it reads.

Where this should go

By 2030, no special car changes hands in Europe without having crossed Spott's radar.

Every vertical, every country, read within minutes. Valued, de-duplicated, with the buyer knowing before the market does. Run by a team you can count on one hand, together with partners who know the cars.

So far, and next

Aug 2026Value and editions. A valuation model on measured comparables; 138 editions with production numbers.
Jul 2026Catalogue and map. Every 911 ever built as a catalogue; every listing on the map of Europe.

Apr 2026First inbox. Search profiles, price history, and one dealer as sparring partner.
Sep 2025Day one. Started building, alone, around one search: a 993 Turbo.
