Spott.app is a product of Tulip & Co B.V. in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. You can reach us at info@spott.app. This page is about spott.app, the website you are reading. Access to the Spott platform is arranged separately with each partner and is not covered here.
What this website collects
Nothing, until you decide to write to us. If you use the contact form we keep your name, e-mail address, company, role, country, phone number if you gave one, and your message. We use them for one purpose: to answer you and, if it comes to that, to arrange a conversation. That is also the legal ground: you ask us something and we have a legitimate interest in replying. They are not added to a mailing list, not sold and not passed on to anyone else. We keep them no longer than twelve months after our last contact, and sooner if you ask.
Cookies
This website sets two technical cookies: one that keeps your visit together while you move through the pages, and one that protects the contact form against misuse from other sites. If you were given a key to a private page, a third cookie remembers it so you do not have to enter it again. On the closed parts of the site we also work with a cookie for analysis. It stays on spott.app and does not reach the Spott platform. There are no advertising cookies, nothing is shared with advertisers and nothing follows you to other websites. Would you rather not be counted? Block the cookie in your browser or write to us and we will leave you out.
How visits are counted
We measure how the website is used with PostHog, hosted in the European Union. On the public pages this runs in cookieless mode: nothing is stored in your browser and a visit is not linked to a person. It counts pages, countries, languages and referring sites, and which parts of a page are used. On the closed parts of the site we do use a cookie, for analysis. What we learn is for our own conversations: it is not sold, not shared with advertisers and not used to follow you elsewhere.
What this site loads from elsewhere
The website and the contact form run on a server in Germany, at Hetzner in Falkenstein. The fonts are on that same server, so nothing goes to Google. Two things do come from elsewhere: the visit counter described above, and the map of the last 24 hours, which loads its background map from MapTiler in Switzerland and its map software from the jsDelivr network. Those two load only when the map comes into view. Anything that is fetched from another server sees the IP address of your browser; that is unavoidable, which is why we keep the list this short.
Server logs
Like every web server, ours writes down which pages were requested, from which IP address and at what time. We use that only to keep the site running and to see abuse. Those logs are deleted after fourteen days.
Your rights
You can ask what we keep about you, have it corrected, have it deleted, or object to us keeping it. One e-mail to info@spott.app is enough. We answer within a month and usually within a day or two. If you feel we handled your data badly, you can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. We do not change it quietly.
